Dear Sir:

Thank you for your consideration you have contributed to the Native Country Club Western Bosnia in August 18 and 19 as “the Krajiski Teferic Days.”  There has been made minor changes in hosting of this event. Central location for hosting “Krajiski Teferic Days” has recently changed due to certain circumstances.  Planning and defining a final location  has not met all the aspects needed for hosting “the Krajiski Teferic Days” in city of the St. Louis, because of limitation capacity of soccer fields for the traditional soccer tournament.  Also, the most of our members and hosts are living in the southern part of St. Louis City.  Also, we contacted Mr. Angelo Sita, Commercial District Manager who assisted us in finding a right location of park for central location.  However, the parks in the city of St. Louis have not met our criteria and new location has being defined.

Members of executive branch of the City of St. Louis are very important to be present at “the Krajiski Teferici Days.”  We would like to inform you about new location where “the Krajiski Teferic Days” will be held.  This event will be held at Buder Park (Intersection  I-44 & 141)?  We invite you to be our guest speaker at “Krajiski Teferic   Days,” which means greater the consequence for hosts and visitors present at the place where this event will be held.  Your presence at “the Krajiski Teferici Days” would be appreciated to address speech to hosts and visitors who traveled long miles around the United States and Canada to be there for the traditional gatherings of Bosnians whose roots back from the north-western part of homeland nation, Bosnia and Herzegovina.  Therefore, your presence will be appreciated on August 19 that starts at 11:00 a.m.  We also want to inform you that we have invited government representatives of the State of Missouri who signed resolution No. 5207 of the House of Representatives of the State of Missouri to be present at 9th Krajiski Teferic.  We hope to positive outcome and response to our invitation.

DATE:             10/17/2005

SUBJECT:       Information about activities of “the NATIVE COUNTRY CLUB WESTERN BOSNIA” to government officials and public

TO:                  Francis G. Slay, Mayor of the City of St. Louis

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Native Country Club Western Bosnia is nonprofit association of the people who immigrated to the United States from a region of Western Bosnia, the northwestern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is found in 1999.  Status and program of association are based upon cultural-entertaining, sports, and humanitarian actions.  The Native Country Club Western Bosnia had organized several cultural-entertaining parties, sports’ activities, and humanitarian actions since it has been found. It is very important to remind that the Native Country Club Western Bosnia was host-organization of the 3rd Krajiski Teferic, which held in St. Louis, Missouri on August 19 and 20, 2000 where about 6,000 people had been present from the United States and Canada that immigrated from Western Bosnia.

Arrival of the first refugees to the United States from Western Bosnia’s region in 1996 has brought an idea that traditional festival should be held every year in the United States for all of the people who live in the United States and Canada whose roots come from Western Bosnia.  Goals of that festival are about dedication to memories from native land as remembrance to an exodus, honors of cultural and traditional customs and values, and competition among sports’ activities; therefore, this festival has spontaneously gotten a name “Krajiski Teferic.”  The first Krajiski Teferic was held in Chicago, Illinois, 1998, and later on was held in the following cities:

                        1999, Waterloo, Iowa

                        2000, St. Louis, Missouri

                        2001, Utica, New York

                        2002, Detroit, Michigan

                        2003, Fort Wayne, Indiana

                        2004, Chicago, Illinois

                        2005, Waterloo, Iowa

The Native Country Club Western Bosnia had been pronounced of host organization of the 9th Krajiski Teferic that is going to be held on August 18 and 19, 2006 in St. Louis, Missouri by the council’s decision where representatives and organizations of previous festivals (Krajiski Teferic) had participated in making decision.  According to program that the Native Country Club Western Bosnia plans presentation of folklore (native country dances) and custom dances are held during evening hours on the first day of Krajiski Teferic, August 18, 2006.  During the second day of Krajiski Teferic, August 19, 2006, it is planned cultural and entertaining program along with a soccer tournament before noon.  Besides, local authority officials and representatives of host organization are going to address welcome to the audience, and participants of that event.  Also, night party is going to be held in evening hours where winners in folklore and custom dances, and soccer tournament would be announced along with prizes for winners.  Also, closing remarks of local authorities and representatives of host organization are planned to address prior to wrap up, end of the event.  Our estimate is that between 5,000 and 7,000 people are planning to visit, participate, and be present during Krajiski Teferic.

As matter of a fact, the greater number of the people is expected to be at day of Krajiski Teferic, and we need provide a park with three to four soccer fields where between 5,000 and 7,000 people can meet, and hall for night party and  entertainment with minimal capacity from 2,5000 seats.  We expect your assistance and co-operation as assistance for securing public order.

The people from Western Bosnia’s region are proud on the United States that helped stopping war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and gave opportunity to greater number of the people from our region to continue their life in the United States.  Also, it is important to remind that we are proud on the government that helped us to be involved in community work along with beginning of one new life respected to human being.  Your presence at Krajiski Teferic and address to our people would enrich  our festival.  Such things should prove visitors and participants from other parts of the United States and Canada that head authority officials support our event and work we have achieved.

                        Sincerely Yours,
